MFWD Utility Tractor 110HP with Autosteer and RTK
GENERAL INFORMATION
1.0 Scope of Work: The USDA Plant Introduction Station in Ames Iowa is in need of a
110 HP mechanical front-wheel drive (MFWD) Utility Tractor to operate specialized agricultural research equipment in addition to field operations.
2.0 Background: The USDA Plant Introduction Station utilizes mechanized tractors and equipment to manage and increase the seed collection at the station in Ames, Iowa. This tractor would be utilized for planting, spraying, cultivation, mowing, tillage and hauling in support of the station’s activities. The tractor will be central in the planting of the GEM Project’s nursery. Two tractors will be traded in with the purchase of this one tractor and the contracting vendor will have access to assess the value. One is a 1999 John Deere 6400 open station (serial number L06400H191611 with approximately 1,500 hours) and the other is a 2005 John Deere 6420 cab (serial number L06420K435528 with approximately 1,700 hours).
CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS
3.0 Technical Requirements/Tasks:
• Tractor must meet or exceed the following specifications and be set up and field ready upon delivery:
1. The unit engine must be rated Engine Hp 110, Diesel, Minimum 4 cylinder, wet-sleeve with 4 valve in-head, Rated RPM 2100, turbocharged, 200-amp alternator and include a cold start package.
2. The unit transmission must be infinitely or continuously variable transmission.
3. The unit must be auto guidance ready with RTK antennae and activation and include a minimum 10-inch minimum display.
4. The front axle must be suspended heavy Duty 4 WD nodular cast iron.
5. The unit hydraulics must be Open Center Hydraulic System, Tandem gear pump, 28.0 gpm minimum. Steering system must receive dedicated flow, ISO couplers featuring push-pull design - 4 sets control valves, oil return coupler.
6. The unit must have a rear three-point hitch: Category 2/1 three-point hitch with telescoping draft links and quick coupler hitch. In cab and remote fender mounted control switches.
7. The unit PTO must be independent 540/1000 RPM Rear PTO, must be able to engage and disengage on-the-go, independent of traction clutch.
Rated PTO minimum of 80 HP. In cab and external remote-control switch.
8. The unit must have self-adjusting, self-equalizing, hydraulic wet disk brakes.
9. The unit must have an electro-hydraulic rear lock with self-locking front differential lock.
10. Tire requirements are: Rear 460/85R34, front 380/85R24
11. Wheelbase/Overall Length of the vehicle must fall between 99 inches to 190 inches.
12. The unit overall height must not exceed 115 inches.
13. The unit wheels must be adjustable cast rear wheels and adjustable steel front.
14. The unit shall have an instrument panel with a digital touchscreen display displaying tachometer, engine speed control lever, hour meter, fuel gauge, coolant temperature gauge, oil pressure light, air restriction indicator light and a PTO engagement light.
15. The unit shall have Rollover protection structure (ROPS) cab, retractable seat belts, adjustable and telescopic mirrors, slow moving vehicle (SMV) sign, audio and visual PTO warning, amber turn signal/flasher lights and taillight for road transport.
16. The unit shall have front end weights for front weight support and a full set (18) of 95lb weights.
• Tractors for Trade-in: to be referenced in bid:
1. John Deere 6420 – 2005
2. John Deere 6400 - 1997
4.0 Government Furnished: Site visit access to evaluate trade-in tractors is available
8-4:30 Monday-Friday with the exception of State of Iowa or Federal Holidays.
Tractors are located at the North Central Regional Plant Introduction Station at 1305 State Avenue in Ames, Iowa.
5.0 Deliverables/Schedule: Unit to be delivered onsite no later than 150 days from date of award. Trade-ins to be transported from USDA site at same time.
