Project: 30’ Land roller purchase

GENERAL INFORMATION

1.0 Scope of Work:

The UDSA-ARS is requesting bids for purchase of a 30’land roller. Specifications for the purchase are itemized below.

2.0 Background:

The USDA-ARS Prairie du Sac station will use this roller to smooth land after seeding alfalfa and soybeans. It may also be used for leveling corn stubble.

CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS

3.0 Technical Requirements/Tasks:

The vendor must have experience selling farm tillage equipment.

• The unit must have a minimum of 42” diameter rollers.

• The roller must have smooth rolls and be able to roll worked alfalfa and soybean ground to create good seed to soil contact.

• Must also be able to effectively roll corn stalks.

• Must have a heavy-duty frame with heavy duty bearings.

• Must arrive at farm fully assembled with all hydraulic hoses needed to operate the unit.

• New Sommers 30’ land roller or equivalent

• 10 year limited warranty

Delivery:

Delivery to US Dairy Forage Research Center farm at S8822 Sunset Drive, Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin.

4.0 Government Furnished: Not applicable

5.0 Deliverables / Schedule:

Delivery should occur within 30 days of order.
