Amendment 0002

Amendment 0002 is incorporated into solicitation SP330021Q5002.

Amendment 0002 is being issued to answer vendor questions seen below.

Vendor Questions:

Question 1: Regarding the proposed “Pull Cord” additions to the conveyors in Build 376 Robins AFB. We would like to get some documentation on the existing control system conveyor distribution panels

• Schematics, wiring diagram, panel layout, manual, etc.

• If we can get the documentation in its original source (AutoCAD for example) that would be ideal in order to update as builts for the project Answer 1: The schematics for all panels are attached with this amendment, see PDF labeled

Amendment 0002 System Control Schematics.

Question 2: Pictures of inside each control enclosure and location relative to where the conveyors are would be good.

Answer 2: At this time pictures at this level of detail are not available.

Question 3: Confirm that if we were to use the same type of switch they already have, that would be enough to satisfy the “beacon off the plunger mechanism” requirement in the work document. Note the below photo of an existing switch at the installation and its indicator light.

Answer 3: No. Paragraph 3.3.1 of the statement of work, third sentence states “The pull cord E-stop shall have beacon off the plunger mechanism which helps the operators know where it is tripped in the event that they are pulled.” This is because the new pull cords are in remote areas where personnel normally do not work, and this will help expedite determining where the pull cord has been tripped.

Question 4: Can we get some definition on whether there is any requirement to stop conveyor zone sections

vs. shutting down a complete conveyor. Do the new switches that are added to a conveyor need to stop other conveyors that already have an emergency pull cord system ones?

Answer 4: If a pull cord is tripped, the system shall shut down the entire system.

Question 5: Will there be any need to modify the code that is running their existing user interface to add more messages, etc.? We will assume we wouldn’t do that for now.

SP330021Q5002

Amendment 0002

Answer 5: No, however if a pull cord is tripped, a message shall display on the existing panel view for the PLC the conveyor is wired to that the pull cord was tripped.

Question 6: Define what the implication is for integrating the new switches into the existing control system

“in accordance with OSHA standards”.

Answer 6: The new switches if activated will shut down the entire system and shall display a message saying the pull cord has been tripped on the PLC Panel view. Also, the beacon shall activate.

Question 7: My electrical contractor is asking if he needs a Georgia license to install the pull cords?

Answer 7: Yes. This is required by NEC.

All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
