Scope of Work
Inspect and Clean Water Storage Tanks
Background
The National Park Service (NPS), Pinnacles National Park, has a requirement for inspecting and cleaning six water storage tanks, these tanks are a component of the parks water utility systems. These water storage tanks require periodic cleaning and inspection on a cycle of three to five years.
Period of Performance
Estimated to be 9/1/2020 – 10/30/2020 Will be determined at time of award.
Statement of Services
This project will inspect and then clean six water storage tanks on five separate water treatment systems at Pinnacles National Park. Project will use divers to dive into the tanks to clean using vacuums to remove sediment. Divers will then complete an inspection of the entire tank including interior and exterior surfaces and structural and mechanical components. Documentation will include providing a video of all the cleaning work and documenting conditions of the tank through inspections. The inspections will inform us of any deficiencies, health hazards, or resource hazards. Four water storage tank locations are accessible by vehicle, and two are within easy walking distance.
Scope of work:

· Work will be performed with minimal impact to the water tanks and work site. All vehicles and support equipment shall be washed and free of any dirt or mud that could transfer foreign vegetation into the Park.
· Clean all sedimentation from the floor, walls and ladder of the tank using a hydro-vacuum system or approved other system that scrubs the tank surface without creating turbidity.
· Discharge of sediment shall be filtered and routed through a dechlorination process with a final chlorine residual <.20. Water then can be discharged on site.
· Inspect man way and entry hatches, seals, supply, drain and overflow piping related to the tank, ceiling, interior and exterior ladders, floor and wall seams, interior and exterior walls coating and vents.
· All work shall be video/audio documented with a high-resolution color video/CD with real time and time log. A single copy of this video/CD will be provided to the Park. A written report will be generated that provides summary of work and findings for each water tank.
· Contractor shall document all areas within the tank requiring additional maintenance or repairs. This contract only addresses cleaning issues and should repairs be required; those needs will be addressed separately.
