Statement of Work (SOW)
Project: Small Batch Laboratory Corn Sheller
GENERAL INFORMATION
1.0 Scope of Work: Acquisition of a research laboratory corn sheller for Maize Curation project seed processing.
2.0 Background: The Maize Curation project for the USDA Plant Introduction Research Unit conducts regeneration of multiple accessions that require hand shelling. Purchase of seed laboratory size corn sheller that provides complete clean out between seed lots is needed as part of a new automated seed processing system to reduce hand labor and preserve optimal seed quality.
CONTRACTOR REQUIREMENTS
3.0 Technical Requirements/Tasks: The selected corn sheller must meet or exceed the following specifications:
• Single phase 110V/60Hz power compatible.
• Rubberized shelling rollers to minimize seed damage.
• Unit size compatible with available seed lab floor space (3’ x 3’).
• Easy access shelling chamber for complete cleaning between seed lots and eliminate carry over.
• Dustproof switches and motor.
• Designed for single operator operation.
• Qty: 1.
4.0 Deliverables / Schedule: Unit to be delivered onsite within 60 days of date of award.
5.0 Place of Performance: Unit to be shipped to the following location:

6.0 Evaluation Factors: Lowest price technically acceptable.
