SELLER RESPONSIBILITIES
Locations:
All work will be performed at the Island Visitor Contact Station in the Maryland District of Assateague Island National Seashore.
Tasks to Be Performed by Supplier:
The Contractor will remove the (2) existing HVAC systems (heat pumps and attic mounted exchangers), and replace them with high efficiency models in the 3300 sq. ft. Visitor Contact Station with the following specifications:
• Two (2) new five (5) ton Bryant coastal heat pump model # 213ANC060-B (or equal) as approved by the CO and COR and two (2) new five (5) ton fan coil units model #FV4CNB006 (or equal) as approved by the CO and COR . These new units shall have a SEER of (13) or greater. These new units shall use R410A refrigerant.
• These units shall be rated for coastal use and be equipped with exterior components that are resistant to the corrosive Atlantic Coastal environment.
• The Contractor will remove and dispose of the existing HVAC systems. The removal of the HVAC systems must be accomplished by a certified person, and the coolant must be disposed of according to all applicable codes. Recycling is required where possible. The outdated systems will then be replaced with new energy efficient HVAC systems. The Contractor is responsible for all work including electrical, gas, and plumbing to ensure that both systems function as designed.
• The Contractor will reconnect supply and return air ducting to the new units, replacing any rusted or damaged duct work. The outside ductwork will be properly sealed against leakage and protected from insect and rodent damage. All new connectors shall be installed between existing and new ductwork.
• The Contractor will install/connect new refrigerant lines to the new condensers. The Contractor will be responsible for testing both units to ensure that there is no leakage.
The units must also be tested to make sure thermostats work properly and air flow is balanced properly throughout the entire building. The Contractor will give a short tutorial to the staff on using the new thermostats. All user and operations manuals will be provided to the COR upon completion.
References in specifications to any brand name equipment or materials shall be regarded as establishing a standard of quality and shall not be construed as limiting competition.
