STATEMENT OF WORK

for the

ITC-1172A Pinger Transducer

OVERVIEW/GOAL:

Gavial ITC will provide production 1172A Pinger transducers.

TASKS:

· The Contractor shall accomplish the following tasks:

· Provide an Outline and Installation Drawing.

· QTY 8 Gavial-ITC Model 1172A Pingers

DESIGN CHARACTERISTICS OF 1172A DESIRED TO BE RETAINED

No.
Requirement
1
Bandwidth, Nominal: 3 kHz bandwidth centered at 12.9 kHz. 3 kHz bandwidth centered at 13.5 kHz. 3.5 kHz bandwidth centered at 17.2 kHz. 5 kHz bandwidth centered at 37 kHz. 8 kHz bandwidth centered at 75 kHz. 8 kHz bandwidth centered at 96 kHz.
2
Transmit Voltage Response: The transmitting constant voltage response – worst case average bandwidth of 5.95 kHz in the 11.4 to 14.4 kHz band.
3
Directivity Beam Patterns: The transmitting directivity response shall be a hemi-spherical pattern. For lower frequencies (12.9 kHz to 37 kHz) the beam pattern shall not be down more than 10 dB + or - 30 degrees from a zero degree centerline, with zero degrees pointing to the ocean floor. For higher frequencies (75 kHz and 96 kHz) the beam pattern shall not be down more than 10 dB + or - 30 degrees from a + or - 90 degree centerline, with zero degrees pointing to the ocean floor
4
Depth capability: The transducer shall operate normally to a water depth of 3,000 feet, (0 to 1320 psig).
5
Weight: The maximum dry weight will be less than 15 lbs.
6
Structural requirements: The structure of the transducer and mounting shall withstand a sustained free stream drag force on the transducer of 1200 lbs with no damage or performance degradation.
7
Size envelope: Max. Length: 7.0 Max. Width: 3.5 Max. Height: 7.5
8
Shape: Horizontal cross section shall be rounded/elliptical. The end opposite from the mounting surface shall be rounded over and faired to provide smooth water flow over and around the transducer.
9
Mounting requirements: Hole Pattern: rectangular, 3 11/16 inches by 2 1/8 inches centered on the base. Hole size: 7/16 inches.
10
Connector location: Centered within mounting hole pattern.
11
Depth Sensor: No depth sensor is required.

TEST DATA TO BE SHIPPED WITH EACH UNIT:

Impedance magnitude (Ohms) Impedance Phase (deg) Conductance (umhos) Susceptance (umhos) TVR (dB/uPa/V@1m) Receive Sensitivity (dB/V/uPA) Directivity Patterns in the XY and XZ planes at the intended center frequency

This data shall be provided for each element based on the intended operating frequency. Data shall be provided around the intended center frequency in addition, for directivity measurements which shall include a 360 degree polar plot.

Operating Frequencies: Transmit via 16k element: 12 kHz, 12.9 kHz, 13.5 kHz, 14 kHz, 16 kHz 17.2 kHz. Transmit via the 37k element: 37 kHz. Transmit via the 75k element: 65 kHz, 75 kHz and 96 kHz. Receive on 16k element: 12 kHz to 21 kHz. Receive on 75k element: 65 kHz

Directivity plots to include:

16k element: 12 kHz, 12.9 kHz, 13.5 kHz, 14 kHz, 16 kHz 17.2 kHz

37k element: 37 kHz

75k element: 65 kHz, 75 kHz, 96 kHz

TVR and FFVS (Receive Sensitivity) plots to include:

16k element: 10 kHz – 65 kHz

37k element: 10 kHz – 65 kHz

75k element: 10 kHz – 100 kHz Each pinger assembly shall pass a 10 cycle hydrostatic test to 1172A max design pressure with no visible signs of damage or leakage. The hydrostatic test shall consist of 9 cycles held for 10 minutes, and the 10th for one hour. Pressure gages are calibrated within one (1) year and OQE provided for the pressure gage calibrations and Test Sheets are signed
