DIVISION 1 SHORT FORM GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

PART 1 – GENERAL

ITEM 1 - DESCRIPTION OF WORK

1. Background: The main power supplied to the facilities listed in this project comes in overhead. During weather and storm events, the power to these facilities has failed due to falling limbs and weather events. Standby backup power generation, once installed, will enable the park to stay operational and provide a functioning Incident Command Center in the event of an emergency.

1.2 Work Covered by the Contract Documents:

1. Project Location: Abraham Lincoln Birthplace NHP, 2995 Lincoln Farm Road, Hodgenville KY and 7120 Bardstown Road, Hodgenville KY.

2. Work consists of:

1. Contractor will Supply and Install commercial Power Generator(s) for backup power requirements for three buildings as follows: A. Visitor Center, B. Maintenance Building, C. Knob Creek Tavern. Generators will be powered by diesel fuel. Contractor will supply all parts and labor to install generator(s), support pad, and accessories to attach generator(s) to buildings.

Contractor will install power generation capable of supplying automatic power in the event of a building losing power. The following sizes of Standby Generator sizes have been confirmed for each location:

1. Visitor Center-150KW Diesel Generator with SE Rated 400A Automatic Transfer Switch installed on cast-in-place concrete equipment bases

2. Maintenance Building- 50KW Diesel Generator with SE Rated 200A Automatic Transfer Switch installed on cast-in-place concrete equipment bases

3. Knob Creek Tavern- 80KW Diesel Generator with SE Rated 600A Automatic Transfer Switch

1. Generators at the Visitor Center and the Maintenance Building will be installed in close enough proximity to the building that wiring, and conduit can be ran above ground directly into the building. These generators will be installed and mounted on cast-in-place concrete equipment bases.

2. Generator at the Knob Creek Tavern will not require cast-in-place concrete equipment bases since there is an existing concrete pad on site. Depending on exact location, contractor shall cut a trough in existing concrete to install conduit from generator and electric panel. No overhead conduit allowed.

4. All work will be performed under a single contract.

Period of performance: Work shall be completed within 120 calendar days of the start date provided on the Notice to Proceed. The period of performance is inclusive of _0__ weather days.
