About this file

This justification and approval document seeks to award a sole source contract to Hocoma Inc. for annual preventive maintenance of a CAREN System at the San Antonio Military Medical Center. The period of performance is from October 2021 to September 2026 with an optional six-month extension. Hocoma Inc. is identified as the original equipment manufacturer, providing the only factory-trained technicians authorized for repairs. Market research found no other vendors able to meet the requirements. A sources sought notice resulted in one response that could not provide the necessary certified training. The incumbent contractor was awarded under the same sole source authority in 2018. The contracting office determined the anticipated costs to be fair and reasonable without certified cost data.
