Version 11-30-2016-1 FAR Part 11—Describing Agency Needs
STATEMENT OF WORK (SERVICES)
(SOW)
GENERAL INFORMATION
Title of Project:
Preventative maintenance services for BluecatBio Blue-washer instruments
Statement of Need and Purpose:
The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS), requires preventative maintenance (PM) services for nine (9) BlueCatBio BlueWasher instruments to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and compliance with manufacturer-recommended operating standards.
Background Information and Objective:
Three biology labs in Division of Preclinical Innovation (DPI) have between 2-4 BlueCatBio Blue-washer microplate wash systems to support ELISA and cell-based assays, DNA/RNA prep, and magnetic bead workflows. Traditional plate wash systems utilize aspiration-based cleaning methods, but the Blue-washer cleans through centrifugation which significantly lowers contamination risk, leaves much less residual liquid, and cuts down on consumables. The systems require regular maintenance to ensure they provide cleaner data, fast workflows, and eliminate variability in results.
Period of Performance:
PMs should be completed within 30 days after award.
