STATEMENT OF WORK (SERVICES)
(SOW)
GENERAL INFORMATION
Title of Project:
Service and maintenance Agreement for the Nikon AX-SHR fluorescence/confocal imaging system
Statement of Need and Purpose:
The 3D tissue bioprinting group (3DTBP) at the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) requires a service and maintenance agreement for the Nikon AX-series confocal system. This service contract will ensure our system keeps image data accurate and reproducible, protects and preserves laser and detector performance.
Background Information and Objective:
The National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) focuses on getting more treatments to more patients more quickly. Several thousand genetic diseases affect humans, of which only about 500 have any treatment. NCATS is directly addressing this problem by discovering new technologies and other approaches that could greatly accelerate the process of developing and deploying solutions that can be used by all translational researchers.
The goal of the contract is to ensure instrumentation remains operational and performs in accordance with its original equipment manufacturers operational specifications. Contractor shall provide all labor, material, and equipment for a service agreement for the Nikon AX confocal microscope system.
The Nikon AX microscope is a state of the art imaging device used by NCATS scientists to observe fine details and structure within cells and tissues. The system include advanced components such as high-performance lasers, detectors, scanners, and sophisticated software for image acquisition and analysis. Regular use of this microscope necessitates routing maintenance and occasional repairs to ensure optimal performance. Given the complexity of the system, maintaining its functionality is essential for the contunity and reliability of research activities at NCATS.
