This document is a Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for Lysol Disinfecting Wipes, prepared by Reckitt Benckiser LLC for workplace employees, emergency personnel, and situations with potential large-scale or prolonged exposure. The SDS, dated 05/06/2020, provides comprehensive safety, handling, and regulatory information for the surface disinfectant consumer product, which is available in multiple fragrance variations including Lemon Lime Blossom, Cool Wave, Early Morning Breeze, Crisp Linen, and others. The document is designed to conform to USDOL OSHA 29CFR 1910.1200 HAZCOM standards and includes detailed information about the product's physical and chemical properties, potential health hazards, first aid measures, and ecological information.

The safety data sheet reveals that the product contains ingredients such as ethanol (1-5%), D-Glucopyranose oligomeric alkyl glycosides (1-5%), and quaternary ammonium compounds (less than 1%). The product is classified as not hazardous, with mild eye and skin irritation potential. The document provides emergency contact information, including medical and transport emergency telephone numbers (1-800-338-6167 and 1-800-424-9300 respectively), and specifies that the SDS is not applicable for consumer use, with precautionary and first aid information available on the product label. The manufacturer emphasizes that final determination of material suitability is the sole responsibility of the user, and all materials should be used with caution.

7. Handling and storage

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Store in accordance with local regulations. Store in original container protected from direct sunlight in a dry, cool and well-ventilated area, away from incompatible materials (see Section 10) and food and drink. Keep container tightly closed and sealed until ready for use. Containers that have been opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage. Do not store in unlabeled containers. Use appropriate containment to avoid environmental contamination. See Section 10 for incompatible materials before handling or use.

Hand protection

Based on the hazard and potential for exposure, select a respirator that meets the appropriate standard or certification. Respirators must be used according to a respiratory protection program to ensure proper fitting, training, and other important aspects of use.

Chemical-resistant, impervious gloves complying with an approved standard should be worn at all times when handling chemical products if a risk assessment indicates this is necessary.

Safety eyewear complying with an approved standard should be used when a risk assessment indicates this is necessary to avoid exposure to liquid splashes, mists, gases or dusts. If contact is possible, the following protection should be worn, unless the assessment indicates a higher degree of protection: safety glasses with side-shields.

Eye/face protection

Respiratory protection :

Body protection Personal protective equipment for the body should be selected based on the task being performed and the risks involved and should be approved by a specialist before handling this product.

Wash hands, forearms and face thoroughly after handling chemical products, before eating, smoking and using the lavatory and at the end of the working period.

Appropriate techniques should be used to remove potentially contaminated clothing.

Wash contaminated clothing before reusing. Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location.
