About this file
This document is a contract opportunity from the Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR), Land Division, located in the Hawaii District Land Office. The project involves clearing invasive trees, weeds, and vegetation on unencumbered State lands in Waiakahiula, Puna, Hawaii, specifically creating a 190' x 40' buffer zone along the boundary between State lands (TMK: (3) 1-5-009:009) and an adjacent private parcel (TMK: (3) 1-5-079:085). The scope of work requires cutting and dropping all trees, shrubs, and undergrowth within the designated buffer zone, with all work to be performed under the direct supervision of a certified arborist, and vegetation to be cut close to the ground, removed from the buffer zone, and laid out on bordering State lands.
The contract requires the selected contractor to provide certificates of insurance with minimum coverage limits, including $1 million per occurrence for Commercial General Liability and $500,000 per occurrence for Automobile Insurance. The contractor must be registered with Hawaii Compliance Express (HCE) and submit an arborist certification. Payment for the project will be contingent upon satisfaction of the Scope of Work (SOW) and compliance with specified terms and conditions. The project is expected to commence as soon as the purchase order is processed and a "notice to proceed" is issued by the Land Agent, with the contractor required to notify the Land Agent within 3 days of project completion and include photos of the completed work with the invoice.
