Neutron beam moves horizontally. Magnet is attached to goniometer via 1/4”-20 screws. Magnetic field is applied vertically. x95 optical rail is mounted to the top of the magnet via an x95 optical slide screwed to top of magnet with 1/4”-20 screws. A closed cycle refrigerator (not shown) can be suspended from the optical rail such that a 51 mm diameter cylindrical sample can be positioned through the circular hole shown in the black box.

Closed cycle refrigerator is suspended from an x95 optical rail, which is mounted to the magnet box via an x95 slide screwed into the magnet with 1/4”-20 screws.

Huber goniometer

A 51 mm diameter cylindrical sample is suspended between the poles of the magnet. The magnetic field is vertical, while the neutron beam direction is horizontal.
