About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details NASA Goddard's requirement for a helium leak detector system to support ultra-low gas concentration testing under the Multifunctional Nanosensor Platform project. The specific system requested is one Edwards ELD500 FLEX Helium Leak Detector System, which must include the main unit, an Edwards nXDS15i scroll pump, a certified internal leak standard with NIST-traceable certificate, a wheeled cart, stainless-steel flexible hose, and associated accessories. Technical requirements include a lowest detectable helium leak rate of ≤ 5 × 10⁻¹² mbar·L/s in vacuum mode, fast startup, portability, and a touchscreen interface with USB data logging.

The procurement is planned as a sole source contract with UHV TECH SERVICES INC, with delivery expected within 4-6 weeks after order placement. The system will be manufactured at the contractor's site and delivered to NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. Deliverables include the fully functional leak detection system, factory calibration certificate, installation-ready equipment, and product manuals. The solicitation number is 80NSSC25910911Q, with interested organizations able to submit capabilities and qualifications by 3:00 p.m. Central Standard Time on 7/29/2025. The procurement will use NAICS Code 334513 and is intended to acquire commercial items under FAR Parts 12 and 13.

STATEMENT OF WORK FORMAT

He Leak Detector System July 15th, 2025

PR: _____________________

Note: Only use the sections that are applicable to your service procurement.

Background

To support ultra-low gas concentration testing under the Multifunctional Nanosensor

Platform project (PI: Sultana) at NASA Goddard, a helium leak detector is required to verify the integrity of all gas lines, fittings, and chamber connections. Even minor leaks in the test setup can compromise data quality and sensor calibration. This equipment is essential for ensuring leak-tight environments during sensor validation.

Scope

The contractor shall supply one (1) Edwards ELD500 FLEX Helium Leak Detector

System, including:

▪ ELD500 FLEX main unit (PN D13530000).

▪ Edwards nXDS15i scroll pump with demister (PN A73701983).

▪ Certified internal leak standard with NIST-traceable certificate.

▪ Wheeled cart (PN D13550630).

▪ Stainless-steel flexible hose, clamps, power strip, and vibration dampeners.

▪ Factory certification and readiness for operation.

▪ Warranty and documentation.

Requirements

▪ Lowest detectable helium leak rate: ≤ 5 × 10⁻¹² mbar·L/s (vacuum mode).

▪ Integrated test leak source and fast startup (<2 minutes).

▪ Portable and rugged (30 kg system weight).

▪ Touchscreen interface, automated calibration, USB data logging.

▪ NW25 inlet flange, 495 × 456 × 314 mm size.

▪ Suitable for ultra-sensitive R&D leak testing.

Deliverables or Delivery Schedule

▪ Fully functional leak detection system with all accessories.

▪ Factory calibration certificate (NIST-traceable).

▪ Installation-ready equipment including hoses and dampeners.

▪ Product manuals and warranty details.

Government-Furnished Equipment and Government-Furnished Information

▪ No Government-furnished equipment (GPE) and Government-furnished information (GFI).

Place of Performance

▪ The above items shall be manufactured at the contractor’s site, delivered to

NASA\GSFC.

Period of Performance

▪ System to be delivered within 4–6 weeks after order placement.
