PORT RESCUE BOAT ENGINE REPLACEMENT
ABSTRACT:
1.1 This item describes the requirements to replace the Port Rescue Boat Engine for USNS CESAR CHAVEZ T-AKE 14.

1.4 Description:
1.4.1 Use Reference 2.1.2 for guidance.
1.5 Bill of Material (Contractor Furnished):
1.5.1 Contractor shall provide the exact quantities of additional material such as fasteners, fittings, hoses, filters, etc., which are not included in the bill of materials in order to install a fully functional system that meets the requirements of this specification.

NOTES:
1.7 Performance Period: 11 April – 17 April 2021.
1.8 Report Rescue Boat “Port Rescue boat engine requires replacement.”
1.9 Performance Location: GUAM.

1.11 The contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier must consult the General Technical Requirements (GTR) to determine applicability to this work item. In performance of this work item, the contractor and all subcontractors regardless of tier must comply with the requirements of all applicable GTR’s including but not limited to GTR’s 1 through 7, 23, and 29.
1.12 Contractor shall provide labor necessary to complete work as discribed.
1.13 Contractor shall perform inspections, tests, and trials to demonstrate a SAT operational test of the lifeboat and RHIB release hooks.
THIS SHIP CONTAINS HIGH VOLTAGE (HV) ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS. OBEY ALL POSTED AND VERBAL INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING SAFETY AND EXCLUSION FROM HIGH VOLTAGE AREAS. AT NO TIME APPROACH, WORK ON, OR ENTER A HIGH VOLTAGE AREA WITHOUT PROPER AUTHORIZATION.
1.14 THE T-AKE CLASS ELECTRICAL COLOR CODING DOES NOT FOLLOW CONSISTENT COLOR SCHEME. THE SHIP IS KNOWN TO HAVE CURRENT CARRYING CONDUCTORS COLORED GREEN, BLUE, BLACK, AND WHITE. ASSUME ALL ELECTRICAL CABLES ARE ENERGIZED UNTIL TESTED AND PROVEN OTHERWISE. TEST ALL ELECTRICAL CABLES TO ENSURE THEY ARE DE-ENERGIZED PRIOR TO WORKING ON THE ITEM.
QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS:
1.15 All Inspections, Adjustments, and Servicing shall be completed to the satisfaction of Port Engineer, Chief Engineer, Master, and Chief Mate.
STATEMENT OF WORK:
1.16 Provide the services of the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) representatives.
1.17 OEM Rep shall replace Port Rescue Boat engine with new GFM engine. Restore all engine axuillary systems to provide a fully operational unit. Make adjustments as needed for proper operation.
1.18 OEM Rep shall travel to each ship’s location during the Period of Performance listed under Para 5.1.
1.19 Provide a condition found report for all discrepancies found. Repairs will be the subject of a change order.
1.20 Preparation of Drawings and Documentation:
1.21 Within ten (10) business days after completion of work, submit a final report, in electronic adobe format, of completed check lists, of conditions found, discrepancies corrected, and recommendations for any process improvements noted during inspections.

Emergent Work:
1.24 Any repairs identified outside of the scope of the references and /or listed within this Statement of Work shall be submitted to the Port Engineer and Contracting Officer via Condition Report for resolution and direction.
1.25 In addition, any additional required repairs, outside of the scope of this SOW that is identified prior to the start of any of the period of performances shall be submitted to the Contracting Officer by the Port Engineer and/or Contractor.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
1.26 The Contractor shall provide all of his/her own equipment and tools to perform this work. All instruments/tools that require calibration shall have a current calibration label affixed to it.
