About this file
This is a detailed specification document listing the salient characteristics required for two particle counter devices being procured by the Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime. The particle counters must be capable of measuring liquids with viscosity up to 1600 cSt, including hydraulic oils, gear oils, engine oils, and water-based hydraulic fluids, with external pressure supply and precise flow rate control.
The devices must meet specific calibration requirements according to ISO 11171 and ISO 4402 standards, with calibration ranges of 4-70 μm(c) and 2-100 μm respectively. Additional requirements include reporting capabilities for ISO 4406, SAE AS 4059, and NAS 1638 standards, ability to measure volumes from 1-1,000 mL, compatibility with sample bottles up to 7 cm diameter and 18 cm height, and maximum dimensions of 400mm x 280mm x 600mm. The units must have SEA 04Q (LQAO) approval, include a printer, operate with or without a computer, have unique serial numbers, and come with suitable transport cases for shipping and calibration.
