Questions asked by vendor in regards to Surveillance system.
1. When is the RFP due? COB May 31, 2011. Proposals can be emailed.
2. Will there be any advance payment on the project? The vendor will be paid in full at the completion of the project upon the Center receiving the invoice and approved by Center staff. There are no advance, partial, or progress paymenst.
3. What is the number of existing analog cameras to be carried in to the new system? There are 9 in the CEC, 12 in theCaféteria, and 14 in the Recreation Bldg.
4. Are the existing 28 cameras analog and not IP? Analog
5. Will Job Corps be providing the IP addresses for the new cameras? Yes
6. Do you want continuous recording or motion record? Continuous recording
7. Are you were requesting the two existing DVRs be replaced, so all cameras can be seen with the same remote client software? No we are not requesting the two existing DVR’s to be replaced, we would however like to be able to monitor those cameras with the new cameras in the same software.
8. Please verify the ends of the building and floors that will have Ethernet switches and rack(s). 3. Dorm 1 is on the NW, Dorm 2 is on the SW and Dorm 3 is on the NE end.
9. How close is the nearest data closet to the two locations marked on the adm building 234 ? Best guess is approx. 20 yards
10. When will the data closets be installed ex: racks and hubs installed to start installing equipment? We don’t have an install date from JCDC yet.
11. When will the data closets be operational ? Center will know that after the install.
12. Is Job Corp Supplying the switches and PoE ports? Is Job Corp Supplying the switches and PoE ports?
13. Current Cameras What is the make and model of these? There are Sony & Samsung PTZs, Pelco exterior, and Sony interior.
14. The Center wants to monitor from 8 to 10 locations. Does this mean you want 10 workstations or to be able to monitor from current workstations? We would like 15 computers to be able to connect to the monitoring software.
15. Do you want the system give out alerts when someone is to close to it? Alerts are fine as an option.
16. Do you need to see in the rooms even with all lights out? No need for IR illumination inside of the buildings.
17. Are the switches in each of the Telco rooms we would be connecting to? Yes they are in the Telco room of each building.
18. Would you like to record voice with the cameras? Voice is an option we can consider.
19. Would you like to be able to talk to the students you see from the camera? VOIP cameras is an option we would consider.
20. Would you like access to camera system via apple APPs on iPhone, iPOD, or iPAD? Not a necessity.
21. How many days do you want to have access to this recorded data? 30 days
22. It was stated that ISR was providing the POE Network Switches? We will have Cisco 3560E PoE 24 port switches after the computers and phone systems have been connected we should have probably 5-10 ports available on the switch.
23. For the DVR/NVR do you want rack mountable units and is there rack space for additional units? Do I need to include an equipment rack in my proposal? We will have a rack installed, I’m not sure on the size or space at this time but there should be space available for a rack mount system.
