About this file
This request for proposal (RFP) from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) solicits proposals for a cost-reimbursement contract to perform in vivo rodent behavioral pharmacology studies to determine the efficacy of novel compounds in animal models of relapse using drug self-administration reinstatement models for cocaine, nicotine, methamphetamine, or opioids. Offerors must possess a DEA research registration for schedules II through V controlled substances and the ability to obtain a schedule I registration. Studies will evaluate test compounds for their ability to block stress-, drug- or cue-induced reinstatement of drug-seeking behavior following experimental extinction. The contract will have a one-year base period and four one-year option periods, with additional quantity options. The RFP anticipates awarding a single contract with an estimated July 2024 start date. Responses are due 45 days after RFP release. Offerors must comply with animal research requirements and submit evidence of IACUC review and approval.
