About this file
This document is a Purchase Description for the following products and services required to support a simulation training environment: VBS4 Seat License, VBS4 Support, VBS Blue IG, VBS Blue IG Maintenance, VBS IG SDK Seat License, VBS IG SDK Maintenance, VBS Simulation SDK License, VBS Simulation SDK Support, and ASUS Laptops. The required hardware and software components are specified, including minimum system requirements such as touchscreen monitor, CPU, RAM, GPU, storage, and operating system. The Purchase Description outlines the need for an Embedded Trainer to provide a Gray Eagle simulation that can function on the GEMMI ground control system and PCs, with incremental accreditation from the Directorate of Simulation. This is a sole source procurement from Bohemia Interactive for the VBS4 and VBS Blue Image Generator products, as they are determined to be the best fit for the project requirements.

Purchase Description
VBS4 Seat License, VBS4 Support, VBS Blue IG, VBS Blue IG Maintenance, VBS IG SDK Seat License, VBS IG SDK Maintenance, VBS Simulation SDK License, VBS Simulation SDK Support, and ASUS Laptop
Background:
A Simulation Host and Image Generator is required to host the embedded trainer simulation and provide corresponding graphics within a simulated environment. Simulation Host and Image Generator must interface with each other as well as the Ground Control Station using DIS Protocol. The Simulation Host allows a user to create, edit, and run a simulated scenario containing multiple entities within the Ground Control Station. The Image Generator is responsible for the synthetic virtual environment and the 3D models within. Lack of an Image Generator will result in an unusable simulation that has an entities positional information being relayed to the synthetic virtual environment, with no way to view the object, terrain, or any other corresponding visual effect.
Due to the resource taxing nature of the software, this embedded trainer must run on high-performance hardware. The portable nature of the Ground Control Station and the limited space available necessitates a laptop as the hardware choice for hosting this software.
Performance Requirements:
The contractor shall provide engineering services required to complete the Embedded Trainer in support of the MQ-1C Block 25 – M aircraft using identified components from the STE. Develop a Gray Eagle simulation that will function on the GEMMI ground control system as well as on PCs and can obtain incremental accreditation from the Directorate of Simulation over the period of performance. (PWS 2.3.2)
