Abrams Creek Campground

Once you enter the Abrams Creek area proceed towards the campground. Just before the campground there will be a gravel road on the left that is for official business or government use only. The tank is a short walk up the gravel road.

Cable Mill Well

Located at the back end of the Cades Cove loop. As you approach the intersection that leads to the Visitor Center, go straight through the intersection onto the gravel road. Near the end of the field on your left will be a gated gravel road. Follow that road for a short walk to the well. The well will be located on the right side of the parking area when you reach the tank.

Chimney Tops Picnic Area

Take the road to the far end of the picnic area. There will be a bridge signed for government use only or official business. Across the bridge and just up the gravel road is the Water Tank to be fenced. The Tank is an in-ground tank with only the top exposed.

Collins Creek Picnic Area – North Carolina

Proceed into the picnic area to the beginning of the second loop. Just before you turn to head towards the Pavilion, there will be a gated gravel road on your right. Follow the gravel road up to the tank.

Cosby Maintenance Area

Take Cosby Road into the Park. You will see the maintenance yard and housing area on your left. When you pass the housing area look for a gated gravel road on your right. The tank is located a good distance down the gravel road. There are two small streams to ford across so waterproof boots are recommended. The tank to be fenced is an in-ground tank located up the hill from the plastic tank.

Elkmont Campground Area

Just before you get to the campground, take left onto paved road headed towards Little River and Jakes Creek trail heads. Proceed through the first parking area and head up the hill. Park in parking lot (take right then quick left at top of the hill). From the parking lot you will see a wooden bridge that crosses Jakes Creek. Take a short hike up the hill to the Cemetery. Follow the road to the left pass the cemetery to the tank site. Tank is an in-ground tank.

Headquarters Area

Turn onto Park Headquarters road. Take second left (first left is a Do Not Enter) and head across the bridge. Follow road to top of hill. Road will turn to gravel and take you to the tank location.

Metcalf Bottoms Picnic Area

The tank is located on the other side of the river than the picnic area. Park in the picnic area and cross the wooden bridge. There will be a gated gravel drive on the right. Follow gravel road up the hill (~1400

ft) until you get to the in-ground tank.

Mt. Sterling repeater site - NC

From the Mt. Sterling Trailhead, hike the trail approximately 3-miles to the fire tower. The repeater builing is at the base of the tower. UTV’s will be allowed on trail after the award to complete the work.

No vehicles are permitted on the trail for bidding purposes.

Tremont Institute water tank

Park at the store on your left after crossing wooden bridge. Follow asphalt road past the Institute and residential area. At the end of asphalt is a trail that leads up to tank. The old road bed may be used to get materials up to the site during construction.

Twin Creeks Science Center

Follow entrance road over the two wooden bridges and make a left. Follow the asphalt until the end.

You will see a blocked gravel road the leads to the above ground tank.

Webb Mountain repeater

Off of 321 in the Cobbly Nob development. Take Pine Top lane to end of development and follow trail to repeater site.

Cosby Maintenance Yard – Bid Option

Take Cosby Road into the Park. You will see the maintenance yard and housing area on your left.

North District Maintenance Yard – Bid Option

Located at the end of Park Headquarters Rd
