11. System shall identify location of unauthorized entry and type (e.g., window, door, motion, etc.) MegaCenter to monitoring service.
12. System shall provide video surveillance and recording capabilities (e.g., DVR with at least a week of memory capacity) in secure containment (e.g., locking cabinet) connected to outdoor cameras strategically placed so as to monitor key areas of concern (e.g., entrances, exits, driveways, unconfined storage areas, etc.).
13. System shall be calibrated so that the GRBA’s indigenous and plentiful small animals and vermin (mice, squirrels, migratory swallows, etc.) shall not activate, disable, or render excessive false-alarms.
Fire Alarm System Specifications:
1. Design, installation, and equipment must meet the most current applicable National Fire
Protection Association, International Fire Code, International Mechanical Code, and
American National Standards Institute requirements.
2. Systems must be able to transmit all signals to the MegaCenter monitoring service.
3. Systems shall identify location of alarm source.
4. System shall be calibrated so that the GRBA’s indigenous and plentiful small animals and vermin (mice, squirrels, migratory swallows, etc.) shall not activate, disable, or render excessive false-alarms.
Design:
The determination of the equipment type and other items related to the security and fire alarm systems shall be the responsibility of the contractor, including but not limited to special considerations for working in historic structures, based upon the alarm brand and model proposed by the contractor to meet the specification requirements.
Security System Design: The design shall evaluate any existing system and options to determine how to meet specification requirements in the most cost effective manner. The NPS prefers existing systems, when present, be used unless contractor finds the system to be obsolete or not repairable. The design shall include all necessary additional equipment and accessories (e.g., signs, stickers, etc.) needed to make the system meet specification requirements. The design shall include all phone/communication system installations or modifications needed to ensure the resulting system meet specification requirements.
Fire Alarm System Design: The design shall evaluate any existing system to determine ability to meet specification requirements in the most cost effective manner. The NPS prefers existing systems, when present, be used unless contractor finds the system to be obsolete or not repairable. The design shall include all necessary additional equipment to make a system meet specification requirements. The design shall include all phone/communication system installations and/or modifications needed to make the system meet specification requirements.
