STATEMENT OF NEED FOR SUPPLY
Requisition #: NRMJ3000-16-00798
PURPOSE:
CSD is constructing a new flight-capable time of flight (TOF) chemical ionization mass spectrometer instrument for operation aboard research aircraft, including the NOAA WP-3D for the FIREX project in 2018. This requires the purchase of mass flow controllers and mass flow meters to control reagent, calibration, and inlet gas flows in the instrument, independent of altitude during flight.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS:
The required reagent and calibration gas mass flow controllers must have the following attributes:
· Gas flow capable
· Piezoelectric valve actuator
· Analog and digital control options
We require mass flow controllers for the following gases and full-scale range:
Quantity
Gas
Function
Approximate full scale range, sccm

Additional consideration will be given to components with the following attributes:
· flight-proven aboard research aircraft
· compression-type fitting options
· Compact form factor, flexible orientation, and type of input cabling
· Software-configurable multi-gas and multi-range settings
· Overall ease of integration into the flight TOF instrument
DELIVERABLE SCHEDULE:
Additional consideration will be given for shorter delivery times after order is placed, but delivery 10 weeks ARO is required to meet mission deadlines.
