Vendor Questions and Answers

10/30/2018

Q1. What WiFi technologies (a, b, g, n, ac) and frequency bands (2.4 Ghz and 5 Ghz) do you need to emulate?

A1. At a minimum, the instrument needs to be able to emulate IEEE 802.11 types b/g/n in both the

2.4 GHz and 5 GHz ISM bands.

Q2. Is WiFi protocol support required or just RF emulation?

A2. This question is unclear. We’re not sure what you are asking, or what the difference is between “emulation” and “protocol support”. The only comment we can make is that we’re looking for an instrument that can behave as if it were a Wi-Fi access point. A client device should be able to connect to the instrument and behave as if it were connected to a real access point.

Q3. Is it acceptable to offer a two box solution, base station emulator in one and WiFi in a second.

A3. Solutions that involve multiple boxes can be submitted. The system as a whole will be evaluated to determine the extent to which it meets the requirements.

Q4. Do you have specific LAA test plans.

A4. We do not have specific LAA test plans. The development of LAA test plans is one of our areas of research.

Q5. How many component carriers (CC)?

A5. In order for the system to function, at least one component carrier is required. Support for carrier aggregation is not explicitly required.

Q6. Rel 10 & 11 has added capability. Do they need support for Downlink 256QAM or Uplink

64QAM?

A6. As discussed in the SOW, we require compatibility through LTE release 12. This includes support for 256 QAM in the downlink and 64 QAM in the uplink.

Q7. Protocol Logging?

A7. We’re not sure what the question is here. What do you want to know about protocol logging.

Q8. Support for VoLTE calls?

A8. Support for VoLTE calls is not required.

Q9. HSDPA MIMO?

A9. Support for HSDPA MIMO is not required.
