Material: Nickel-Aluminum-Bronze (UNS No. C95800) Meeting all requirements of MIL-B-24480A (SH)

Bore Details

4” STD; 12” Hub Length

HP: 340 RPM @: 1800 Reduction: 5.16:1 SRPM: 349 VA: 10-13 KTS

Additional Details:

The propellers shall be statically balanced. Residual unbalance is to be less than the quantity W times 11,260, divided by N squared, ounce-inches (where W equals propeller weight in pounds and N equals maximum propeller rpm).

The blade are from which metal is removed in correcting the unbalance shall be as large as possible but shall not approach the edges within at least 20% of the cord length of that radius. Pitch at any point shall be within +/- 0.75 inch of design pitch; individual blade pitch at any radius shall be within +/- 0.50 inch of design pitch; mean pitch per blade shall be within +/- 0.40 inch of design pitch. Total pitch obtained by taking the mean pitch of all blades measured at the 0.5, 0.7, and 0.9 radii shall be accurate within +/- 0.30 inch of design pitch. Pitch measurements shall be made no closer than 15% of chord length from the leading and trailing edges on the face of the propeller. Blade “track” shall be accurate within +/- 0.10 inch. Maximum blade radius is to be accurate within +/- 0.10 inch. Blade root fillets are to be modified gradually around the root section-hub junction and ground smooth and fair. Propeller hub shall be accurately finish-bored with keyway in accordance with the latest SAE standards for marine practice, except that the forward diameter of the bore shall be the nominal diameter of the shaft, plus 0.000 inch, minus 0.004 inch. The inside corners of the keyway shall be filleted to a radius as recommended in the standard and the outside corners shall be chamfered to a radius ½ as large as the inside corners.

The propeller hub bore shall provide no less than 60 percent contact evenly distributed over the full length of the hub taper.
