About this file
This document is an amendment to a solicitation for replacing uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units at a naval shipyard. The Navy seeks to replace aging UPS units in Building 72 to ensure continued reliable power. The amendment provides responses to 24 questions bidders submitted regarding project details. Key details include that the contractor must deliver UPS units directly to Building 72 and coordinate elevator usage with tenants. Hazardous waste disposal is not permitted on site. The narrowest hallway is 48 inches wide and shortest ceiling height is 87 inches. The elevator has a 6000 pound capacity. Floor loading capacity is sufficient based on the existing UPS units. No masonry or ramps are required. Network shutdown coordination and potentially off-hours work will be needed. Testing, warranty, and Buy American requirements are as specified in the solicitation.

Answer: This is required per the Division 26 Specifications.
23. What warrantee do you require?
Answer: Please reference Scope of Work section 1.0 B. 5.
24.
“Buy America Act” Requirements. To honor this, we need to use specific materials, and the build needs to be done at a specific factory. There’s an added cost for this, and we’ll need to evaluate spec requirements against what materials we comply with, so we want to ensure that this provision is a requirement.
Answer: Please see page 37 of the solicitation document.
