QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
The following are answers to questions received from a potential offeror. The answers provide clarification only and DO NOT constitute an amendment to the solicitation.
QUESTIONS:
1. Are Equals allowed to be offered.
ANSWER: Equal material will be accepted. The engineer will evaluate the quote and make the final decision.
2. We need clarity on what exactly the ABS requirements are for the valves on this request. So, we can advise accurate ABS Charges as there is scheduling and traveling costs associated to ABS inspections.
ANSWER: The manufacturer of the values should have some type of testing documentation and/or Quality Assurance documentation to present to ABS to ensure the valves meet ABS requirements. If ABS want to be present to witness the testing, that is totally up to ABS discretion. On the other hand, ABS might simply want to see the testing documentation and no travel would be required. MSC does not have the ABS requirement or advise ABS on what is required for valves to meet ABS requirements. The manufacturer and ABS should know what the requirements are for the valves requested.
