TITLE: SSDG Module External Repair

QUESTION: Paragraph 7.2.1 directs to remove approximately 25’ of bulkhead. Is the 25’ of bulkhead a total or is it 25’ per module?

What is the thickness of the material to be installed?

ANSWER:25’ per module, ½” A36

SPECIFICATION ITEM NO.: 402

PARAGRAPH / SECTION NO: 1.1, 3.1

TITLE: Steering Pump Overhaul

QUESTION: Paragraph 1.1 states “This item describes the requirement to perform RADAR Preventative maintenance and annual ABS inspection on FAR-2117/3CM radar system.”However, paragraph 3.1 lists “Two 3CM and One 10CM Antenna/ Pedestal/ MTR/ Display and Two Furuno ECDIS Units”. Please clarify if the intent is to only perform maintenance on the “3CM” units or all units listed in paragraph 3.1.

TITLE: Test Equipment and CRL Calibration

QUESTION: Item paragraphs 7.2.2.1 and 7.2.2.2 state 20% of gauges and 10% of thermometers will require replacement. Because of the wide range of manufacturers, types, sizes, pressure/temperature ranges, etc., can the replacements be the subject of a CCO as there is not a conclusive way to estimate the cost of replacements?

TITLE: Unrep Gear

QUESTION: Is a clearer print quality of references per para’s 2.2 and 2.3 available?

TITLE: Annual Firefighting ABS Inspections

QUESTION: Paragraph 7.4 references paragraph 2.0, Section 2.1.20. There is no 2.1.20. References stop at 2.1.17. Please advise.

TITLE: VARIOUS

QUESTION: Amendment 0003 addressed many Requests for Clarifications. However, many of the questions contained in the Requests for Clarifications were not answered:

0102 In the note between paragraphs 7.19 and 7.20 and as well in paragraph 7.20 reference is made to enclosure 2.2.2. Where can the Enclosure be found?

0310 The list that keeps getting referred to contains (24) lube and fuel oil hoses where are the other (4) hoses identified?

0113 Is the T-Beam 1-1/2” x 1-1/2” x 1/4" or 2” x 2” x 1/4" or 2-1/2” x 2-1/2” x 1/4" or 3” x 3” x 1/4"?

0025 The work item specifically refers to Work Item 019 which establishes what the base security measures are. Category B Work Item 0025, if activated, adds to the requirements established by a Work Item 019. If the contractor is not providing vessel specific security how does MSC intend to implement increased vessel security?

0120 Fifteen (15) sockets in the vicinity of a single location would take less effort than fifteen (15) sockets not in vicinity of each other. Therefore, please identify the (15) specific sockets that are to be repaired from the (29) that are identified in the highlighted drawing provided? In addition, will the Peck + Hale Part Number PH1112-3C cross tie piece be acceptable for this installation?

ANSWER:

-0102: Wager guide see attached

-0113: 2” x 2” x 1/4" -0310: 24 hoses, port engineer can’t count

-0025: Via “B” item CCO. Activation is not currently expected.

-0120: Ship has not provided an updated cross tie list. The 29 will be gauged by Ships force and determined during walk through. All tie downs will be on the external 01 Level and can be worked from the outside. No interferneces will require removal. See attached DWG

SPECIFICATION ITEM NO.: 0102

PARAGRAPH / SECTION NO: 2.1.1

TITLE: A Tank Vent and Goose Necks

QUESTION: Reference 2.1.1 shows that all vent/check valve assemblies are wager 1750. There are two versions of this vent/check valve assembly full float and half float. Which version is required?

ANSWER: Full

SPECIFICATION ITEM NO.: 0526

PARAGRAPH / SECTION NO: 7.2.2.1-7.2.2.2

TITLE: Test Equipment and CRL Calibration

QUESTION:

Paragraph 7.2.2.1 states “20% of gauges will require replacement (approx., $7,500.00)” Paragraph 7.2.2.2 sates “10 % of Thermometers will require replacement (approx., $5,000.00)”

Can the government revise spec to address material pricing concerns by removing “20% of gauges” and “10% of thermometers” and revising the $7,500.00 & $5,000.00 material for gauges and thermometers as a Level of Effort (LOE) material for each paragraph?

ANSWER: No

SPECIFICATION ITEM NO.: 0531

PARAGRAPH / SECTION NO: 3.2.2

TITLE: A misc Equip and motor overhaul

QUESTION: There are no references provided for Motor listed in paragraph 3.2.2 for supply fan S01-469-1. No information on motor model number, size or type is provided in paragraph 3.2.2. Please provide references and motor model number, size & type.

ANSWER: Work Item 0531 was accidentally added into the references zip file for Amendment 0003. There is no work item 0531 included in this package.

SPECIFICATION ITEM NO.: 0310

PARAGRAPH / SECTION NO: 3.2.1, 3.2.2

TITLE: A SSDG Hose Replacement

Question: Previously answered bidders calls for only 29 hoses to be replaced for enclosure 2.4 for fuel oil and lube oil hoses only. Contractor only counts 24 hoses for fuel oil and lube oil listed enclosure 2.4. Please advise. Enclosure has a RE classification for all fittings which states reusable. For bidding purposes will all hose fittings be reused unless determine unusable after inspection and will cost be covered under a CFR?

ANSWER: 24 hoses. Fitting are reusable
