MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND

N32205-18-Q-6674

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

The following are answers to questions received from potential offerors. The answers provide clarification only and do not constitute an amendment to the solicitation.

1. Do you want the compressor return gas sensor?

ANSWER: If recommended by offeror in order to interface with the local HMI control of the chiller.

2. Do you want the multi-unit controller so that they are both controlled from the same controller?

ANSWER: No.

3. Do you want the condenser water temperature sensors?

ANSWER: If recommended by offeror in order to interface with the local HMI control of the chiller.

4. Do you want the navigator display modules? This allows full function of the machines and also allows you to access controls that you normally would not be able to access from the regular controls

ANSWER: Yes.

5. Do you need single or dual circuit?

ANSWER: This is up to the offeror, as long as 50 ton (nominal) capacity and other performance requirements are satisfied.

6. What material selection do you need for the condenser/evap? We cannot do CuN due to the size. However, we can use either stainless steel or titanium.

ANSWER: Stainless steel is unacceptable. 90/10 Copper CuNi is required by the performance spec.

Titanium may be an acceptable alternative but I am unfamiliar with the use of Titanium in chiller applications so I defer to the offeror to provide a system that is suitable for a marine environment with seawater cooled condensers.
