QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS - 1

The following are answers to questions received from potential offerors. The answers provide clarification only and DO NOT constitute an amendment to the solicitation.

Question 1: Specification Item No. 501.

Item scope details the replacement of 115 different hoses, neither the reference or spec. gives length, diameter or type of fittings.

Please provide the required information, for critical pricing of hoses.

Answer:

Hose and fitting specifications are listed in reference 2.1.

Hose exact lengths are unavailable but installed hoses will be available during ship check of vessel.

Question 2: Specification Item No. 903, Page 903-1 We were provided 2 different work item 903 Inspect Sea Valves & Sea Chest. One item had paragraph 4 GFE listing 6 butterfly valves being provided and the other item did not have any GFE Valves listed. Please advise which item to use for this bid.

Answer: 4.0 Government Furnished Equipment:

4.1 Replacement Sea Chest Sea Valves.
4.1.1 10 inch butterfly valve, Lug Style: Qty Four (4)
4.1.2 12 inch butterfly valve, Lug Style: Qty Two (2)

Question 3: Specification Item No. 607, Page 607-2 Para 7.1.1.1 requires removing insulation IAW Reference 2.3. The item does not list a Reference 2.3 Please Provide.

Para 7.1.2.2 requires providing an equipment locker MEL ID 769.2. Please provide the Equipment list the references this cabinet or is this a custom cabinet?

Answer:

Para 7.1.1.1 should reference to reference no 2.2 vice 2.3.

Para 7.1.2.2: details from the equipment list is as follows: MFR: Global Industrial Part Number: WBB180089

Question 4: Specification Item No. 105 Paragraph No. 7.8, Page 105-5 The Manufacture Representative phone number listed in paragraph 7.8 is a non-working number. Please provide a phone number or email address so we can contact the Manufacture.

Question 5: Specification Item No. 0604, Paragraph 3.3.1, Page 105-5 Paragraph 3.3.1 Requires Shell Omala Oil F220, 17 liters and according to our lubricant distributor this oil is not available in the US. Shell technical recommends Omala S4 GX 220. They recommend draining the old product out prior to using the Omala S4 GX 220.

Answer:

Any lubricant oil approved by the Davit OEM is acceptable. Prior to installation of oil written approval from OEM shall be required.
