QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

CONEX BOX

SOLICITATION N0040623Q0464 QUESTIONS

1. Is it possible to get an extension?

ANSWER: Solicitation is extended to 03 May 2023.

2. The spec requires a “weatherproof 440V hookup with 450>120 stepdown transformer”.

a. Is there a particular cable-mounted plug/receptacle that the ship will be using to connect to this container’s “weatherproof 440V hook-up”?

b. Is there a specific amperage that this hookup needs to allow for?

ANSWER: a. there is not a specific receptacle the ship will use to connect the container to the ship.

Generally it is just a three prong extension cord.

b. No there is no specific amperage.

3. The spec requires “(6) universal extinguisher bottle brackets”. Where are those meant to be located? (they are not shown on the drawings, from what I can tell.)

ANSWER: The brackets would do best if places on the wall of the conex closest to the door for easy access. If you could mount the brackets on the inside of the door that would be best if there is space.

4. The spec requires “(6) double door lockable storage cabinet with 5 adjustable shelves 4'w x 2.5"d x 6'h for storage of 12 proximity suits”.

a. Is the quantity of (6) cabinets correct? (the drawings make it look like there may only be one)

b. Can we assume that the dimensions (4'w x 2.5"d x 6'h) are the size of one cabinet?

c. How are the suits intended to be stored? (The drawings show hanging suits, but the description makes it sound like they will be stored on shelves) ANSWER: a. 6 cabinets is too many it should be 2 cabinets if spacing allows for it

b. Yes that is the size of one cabinet.

c. The suits are required to be hung.

5. The spec requires “7'w x 2.5'd x 4'h work bench with a 1/2" lip on the work surface and with (2) 3'w x 2.5'd x 3'h tool storage boxes underneath”. What style of tool storage boxes are wanted? (Are they to be open top crates that will simply be slid out from underneath the work surface in order to access the tools? or other?)

ANSWER: Tool storage boxes are not crates, they will need 4 sliding shelves on each end and if they can have doors on those cabinets.

6. The spec requires “(2) 2'w tool boards with 4 adjustable brackets (placed 5'h off the deck)”. What are these 4 adjustable brackets being used for? (it is difficult to define brackets—and, therefore, their pricing— without knowing the intent of use) ANWER: The brackets are used to store axes, halogen tools, and large crowbars.
