VENDOR QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
1) The large chamber requires a minimum of 38"w x 52"d x 38"h however the external dimensions cannot exceed 60"w x 85"d x 96"h. In trying to meet your performance specs we don't have a standard chamber design that can support both. Which spec has the most importance? Can we assume the internal workspace? If so, is there flexibility in the footprint spec?
Answer: Please meet the minimum interior dimensions of 38"w x 38"h x 52"d as stated in the SOW. Please also review the maximum external dimensions in the updated SOW, as they have been increased.
2) The small chamber requires a minimum of 20"w x 20"d x 20"h of internal workspace which equals 4.3 cf.
however the SOW states the chamber must be 5 - 8 cf. Can we assume the 20" criteria supersedes the min 5cf spec?
Answer: The minimum interior dimensions have been increased in the SOW to 20.5"w x 20.5"d x 20.5"h to match the SOW requirements of 5 - 8 cf.
3) Your humidity spec requires operation with a temp down to 5oC (41oF). Our standard humidity performance, based on psychometric limitations, is 10% to 98% RH Limited by a 45°F (7°C) minimum dew point temperature and a maximum dry bulb temperature of 190°F (88°C). Is this acceptable?
Answer: The minimum humidity range in the spec has been revised to 10% - 95% Relative Humidity between +45F and +185F for both chambers.
4) You are requesting FOB Destination however Note 7 on pg 16 allows for FOB Origin. Additional charges apply w/ destination...Will we be excluded submitting under FOB/FCA Origin?
Answer: FOB: Destination is preferred by the government, but FOB: Origin is acceptable. If quoting FOB:
Destination, include the shipping costs rolled in as part of the line item cost. If quoting FOB: Origin, then add that as an additional line for shipping, and put the cost.
5) Specs requires a 'Audible and visual alarm (strobe light mounted on top)". Please provide the make/model of preferred strobe light and specs for the 'audible alarm'.
Answer: EXAMPLE Strobe Light (EXACT MODEL NOT REQUIRED): Microstrobe 490S—120, or equal EXAMPLE Audible Alarm (EXACT MODEL NOT REQUIRED): WERMA Part# 10700077 panel mount buzzer.
80~100dB, 2.4kHz continuous tone., or equal
6) The model we're considering for the large chamber may not support leveling pads. Is this acceptable?
Answer: The requirement for adjustable leveling feet has been removed from the large chamber SOW.
7) Spec requires our humidity system use the 'Seimens IonXchanger Universal Model II demineralizer cartridge". Is there flexibility in this?
Answer: We use Siemens IonXchanger Part# 3C0600002, and APS Ultra Part# MB19H1-D cartridges. Both have the below dimensions and specs. There is a FIRM requirement to use one of these two filter cartridges to consolidate maintenance parts at our facility.
Diameter: 3.35in Body Length: 18.0in Overall Length: 19.5in Flow Rate: 7.2GPH
8) To meet your performance requirement, "compressor only", for both chamber the power specified will exceed levels stated in the SOW. Is there flexibility with this?
Answer: Please review the updated SOW. The compressor only ramp rates have been reduced, as facility power limitations are fixed. Please also note that the aluminum dead load for each chamber has been reduced.
9) The small chamber requires a minimum of 20"w x 20"d x 20"h however the external dimensions cannot exceed 40"w x 50"d x 78"h. In trying to meet your performance specs we don't have a standard chamber design that can support both. Which spec has the most importance? Can we assume the internal workspace? If so, is there flexibility in the footprint spec?
Answer: Please review the updated SOW. The maximum external dimensions in the have been increased. Also, if the humidity water tank simply will not fit in the updated external dimensions, please note that the SOW has also been updated to allow for a separate cart for the water tank. A single unit is still the preferred option, vise a separate cart with the water tank, but it is allowed if necessary.
