6. Contractor Responsibilities
6.1. Assumptions/Constraints/Scope of Work
The Contractor shall provide technical services, labor, and any tools required to procure and install eight rotary screw type compressors and air dryer systems. All tasking will be accomplished in accordance with (IAW) this SOW and as discussed during the walk thru. Although the locations for the installations are in different spaces, the process will be consistent with the following:
a. NAVFAC will remove the existing air compressors and air dryers, disconnecting the electrical connections and the floor mounting systems. NAVFAC will then mount the new compressors and air dryers, and connect to building power.
b. NAVFAC will provide all necessary modifications to the facility to accommodate the new compressors and air dryer.
c. Once the new compressors are mounted, SCSTC ATRC’s ¾" copper piping existing network will be connected to the new compressors by the contractor using aluminum piping materials.
d. The contractor will run 32mm pipe up the wall to a height equal to the inlet port of the desiccant dryer. The piping will then elbow down the wall to the corner where it will then turn and connect to the desiccant dryer.
e. The Contractor will install isolation ball valves at the inlet and outlet ports on the desiccant dryer so it can be isolated for service.
f. From the outlet port of the desiccant dryer the piping will go up to a height equal to the ¾" copper pipe where the new system will be connected.
g. The piping from the desiccant dryer will then be run along the wall to this tie-in point. The piping from the desiccant dryer will be connected to the ¾" copper pipe about two feet from where the copper pipe turns and goes through the wall.
h. At this point the copper pipe will be cut and threaded fittings will be installed to allow for connection to the aluminum piping materials.
i. SCSTC ATRC is responsible for removal of any other items from the spaces to accommodate the installation, to include storage racks, shelving, and other impediments to movement within the affected spaces.
6.2. Contractor Furnished Information / equipment
The Contractor shall organize, coordinate, and control all program activities to ensure compliance with contract requirements and timely delivery of the services specified herein.
