Specifications List:
I. Description of Requirement NRL requires a high frequency, wideband complex waveform characterization system capable of precision generation, characterization, recording, and playback of a wide range of complex RF signals. The system consists of a wideband, real-time spectrum analyzer, an arbitrary waveform generator, and a mixed signal oscilloscope. The system must consist of compatible components from the same manufacturer.
II. Performance Requirements
The Governments minimum critical performance requirements for each component in the required system are as follows:
Real-time spectrum analyzer:
• At a minimum, the analyzer shall provide a frequency response spanning from 16 kHz to 26.5 GHz.
• At a minimum, the analyzer shall provide a real-time acquisition bandwidth of 800 MHz at frequencies greater than 3.6 GHz.
• At a minimum real-time performance of the analyzer shall be 419 nanoseconds or less for 100% Probability of Intercept at full signal level.
• The analyzer shall provide a minimum phase noise of -134dBc/Hz at 1GHz, a 10 kHz offset, and an amplitude accuracy no worse than 0.5 dB at 10 GHz.
• At a minimum, the analyzer shall support real-time triggers on events of 4 nanoseconds or less in the time domain and 700 nanoseconds or less in the frequency domain.
• At a minimum, the analyzer shall be capable of streaming data capture to an internal RAID at 800 MHz acquisition bandwidth for a duration greater than 2 hours.
• At a minimum, the analyzer shall provide the ability to capture data and perform real-time signal analysis simultaneously at an acquisition bandwidth of 800 MHz.
• The analyzer shall include a minimum 40 Gigabit Ethernet interface for data offload.
• At a minimum, the analyzer shall be capable of performing modulation analysis on the following modulation types: BPSK, SBPSK, QPSK, DQPSK, D8PSK, 8PSK, OQPSK, SOQPSK, CPM, 16/32/64/128/256 QAM, MSK, GMSK, 2-FSK, 4-FSK, 8-
FSK, 16-FSK, C4FM, D16PSK, 16APSK, and 32APSK.
• At a minimum, the analyzer shall be capable of performing wireless local area network (WLAN) analysis and mapping of 802.11 a/b/g/j/p, 802.11n, and 802.11ac wireless network standards.
• At a minimum, the analyzer shall be capable of performing pulse analysis at acquisition bandwidths of 800 MHz which includes the following measurements:
pulse frequency, power, width, rise/fall time, repetition interval, duty factor, ripple, droop, overshoot, pulse-to-pulse and pulse-to-reference phase and frequency difference, frequency error, phase error, and impulse response.
• The analyzer shall include analysis software for post-processing stored data files in excess of 16 GB at a minimum.
Arbitrary Waveform Generator:
Attachment (1)
• The waveform generator shall provide a minimum vertical resolution of 16 bits.
• The waveform generator shall provide a minimum of 8 analog channels with 4 markers per channel.
• The waveform generator shall provide a minimum 2 G sample waveform memory per channel.
• At a minimum, the waveform generator shall provide a sample rate of 10 GS/s.
• At a minimum, the waveform generator shall provide a spurious free dynamic range of -70dBc.
• The waveform generator shall provide an AC amplified, minimum output bandwidth response of 4 GHz.
• The waveform generator shall support digital up-conversion across all channels.
• The waveform generator shall support the playback of waveform files recorded by the real-time spectrum analyzer and the mixed signal oscilloscope.
• The waveform generator shall include software plug-ins to support RF and RADAR waveform generation.
• The waveform generator shall include software plug-ins to support the pre-compensation of waveforms for precise frequency and phase response.
Mixed signal oscilloscope:
• The oscilloscope shall provide a minimum bandwidth response of 2.5 GHz.
• The oscilloscope shall provide a minimum of 4 channels where each channel can support either a single analog input or 8 digital inputs.
