QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

QUESTION 1:

For item 0001, it states a 2U workstation, but then under the minimum specifications, it says 2U Display Server, then under Chassis it says 1U or 2U form factor. Also for the Riser Cards, it says 1U. I just want to confirm exactly what size form factor chassis is expected for this opp.

ANSWER: The required form factor is 2U

QUESTION 2:

For item 0001, 10x 2.5” hot swap bays are being requested along with an internal DVD drive. Supermicro does not have a 1U or 2U chassis that can support both. Are 8x hotswap bay drives with support for a DVD drive acceptable?

ANSWER: 8x hotswap bay drives with support for a 2U is acceptable

QUESTION 3:

For item 0003, there is a requirement for 6x 24port SFP+ switches, but the systems for items 0001 and 0002 do not have SFP+ network cards listed on the BOM. Item 0004 does list SFP+ transceivers, but the part number listed (SFP-10G-SR) is a normal LC to SFP+ transceiver. Do you need dual port SFP+ network cards in all of the servers or do you need a RJ45 to SFP+ transceivers since the servers are being requested with 10Gb RJ45 onboard?

ANSWER: RJ45 to SFP+ transceivers

QUESTION 4:

For item 0004, the BOM lists Two 125v North American power supplies, reversed airflow, but then lists Four fans with port intake. Reversed airflow is back of the switch to the front (port side/intake). I just want to confirm if you need port side exhaust airflow or port side intake airflow.

ANSWER: Port side exhaust/intake is not a required
