MATTRESS QUESTION AND ANSWER

M6700119Q0029 Mattresses Questions and Answers

1.Q: Can you confirm if you're requiring Side Seam Seal Closure or will you accept the Tape Edge Closure method. We noticed in the Specifications, you are requiring "fluid proof" which may indicate you require the Side Seam

A: The inverted seams are what is required by the specifications

2. Q: The specifications requested a twin XL size mattress with 364 innerspring. Normally that amount of springs is common in a queen size mattress.

A: The specifications for the amount of coils is correct

3. Q: the bid requires removal of old bedding. I wanted to find out if there was a count on how many old mattresses need to be removed. Also, if there was any way to get the info off the tag on the old mattresses this will help in calculating the weight/materials to correctly place a bid.

A: the removal would be for all 1820 mattresses you are replacing, you might have a few less but the BEQ orders state 2 per room. Also, the end user estimated the weight at between 35-40 lbs and said they never have weighed the mattresses.

4. Q: Can I send a sample mattress?

A: Yes you can but only if you are awarded a contract. We do not accept sample during RFQ.

5. Q: What is the width of the existing mattresses?

A: The width of the existing mattresses is 38 inches.

6. Q: Is there any previous award/ price history?

A: This is a new requirement

7. Q: Would we be able to make a few deliveries within the 90 days requested?

A: Once awarded, the receiving agency will contact you and you can ask them.

8. Q: FBO says 3 PM, statement says 10 AM. Please advise

A: The period to answer questions closes at 19 August at 10 AM. The RFQ closes at 26 August 2019 at 3 PM.

9. Q: What are the locations of the 7 Bachelors Enlisted Quarters?

A: For installation locations, AS-4212 and AS-4030 are located on MCAS New River. HP-550, FC-478, FC-481, FC-504, FC-507 are located on MCB Camp Lejeune.
