About this file
The document is a Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) Form issued by the City of Fort Myers, Florida, designed to support the city's MBE goal of 15% participation in local contract opportunities. The form is a comprehensive template for prime contractors and subcontractors to document their good faith efforts in engaging minority-owned businesses, requiring detailed documentation of outreach efforts, including transmittal letters, contact records, quotation reviews, and explanations for non-utilized MBE firms.
The form provides a structured approach for contractors to demonstrate compliance with Resolution 38-125, which aims to increase minority business participation in city contracts. It includes multiple steps for documenting communication with MBE firms, such as recording certified mail transmittals, telephone or in-person contact records, handling of incomplete quotations, and reasons for not utilizing selected MBE firms. This document is specifically linked to the White Coral Affordable Housing RFQ, a project focused on creating 26 affordable single-family homes for residents earning 30-80% of the Fort Myers Area Median Income, with a project timeline spanning from July 2025 to December 2027.
