ASC Standard Operating Procedures i
Introduction
This ASC SOP 2012 edition is an update to the ASC SOP 2009 Edition. Substantive changes have been made to Chapters 1, 6, 7, and 8.
The intent of this updated SOP remains the same: to provide a standard set of procedures and processes that assure consistent treatment of USCIS benefit applicants.
While the SOP reflects the guidance and direction at the time it was published, changes are inevitable, as Congressional mandates are published, new programs are introduced, new technologies change the way USCIS does business, software changes enhance operations, etc.
And there’s always a chance for editorial error (which many of you have found!)
Also, it is impossible to reflect guidance for every possible challenge that ASCs will encounter.
The ASC-ISO and the rest of the ASC staff must use their best judgment and years of experience to resolve the issue at hand.
So, if you note conflicts, are confused by the wording, need further clarification, have a recommendation, please send them through the Regional contacts or managers to USCIS, Enterprise Service Directorate, Biometrics Division using the guidance contained in Chapter 1.
Remember: The ASC Program has established itself as a premier customer-service entity within
USCIS. Taking care of the customer is an ASC Program hallmark. This ASC SOP 2012 Edition continues with the guidance to sustain that great quality.
