SPECIFICATIONS

Far East Banners, Plaques, Medals

For Department of Defense Education Activity – Pacific

BANNERS

Estimated Annual Quantity: 50 Each

• Shall be made of cloth material

• Size shall be 58” wide and 63” long

• Curtain rod pleat at top of banner

• Background color on all banners is white

• Border shall be 2” and of requested solid color for letters and a solid color for trim

(colors vary year-to-year)

• Letters & numbers shall be approximately 1” wide and 6” tall (stitched in cloth)

• Arrangement and text are subject to change based on year, sport, event, and division

• Example text:

D-1 CHAMPIONS

PLAQUE WITH BRASS PLATE – MEDIUM

Estimated Annual Quantity: 125 Each

• Brass (aluminum and satin nickel acceptable) plates shall be silver in color

• Medium plaque size: approximately between 7” x 9” to 7”x 9.5”

• Thickness: Approximately between 0.75 to 0.5” thick

• Plaques shall be made of solid wood (such as walnut)

• Brass plate (approximate size 6” x 8” to 6” x 8.5”) shall be permanently affixed to wood

• Replicas of American, S. Korea, and Japan flags (in color) shall be prominently displayed centered in middle of plaque

• Multiple colors are utilized and etched or digitally printed permanently on the plate

• The “DoDEA Pacific” logo should be shown prominently centered across the top

• Text centered at bottom of page (permanently etched): “You are congratulated on your performance during the tournament. This award is in recognition of your team’s performance.”

• Arrangement and text are subject to change based on year, sport, event, division, and award placement/position.

PLAQUE WITH BRASS PLATE – LARGE

Estimated Annual Quantity: 90 Each

• Brass plate shall be gold in color

• Large plaque size approximately: 9.5” x 12”

• Thickness: Approximately 0.5” thick

• Plaques shall be made of solid wood

• Brass plates (size approximately 8.5 x 11”) shall be permanently affixed to wood

• Replicas of flags from USA, S. Korea, and Japan shall be prominently displayed centered in middle of plaque

• Multiple colors are utilized and etched permanently into the brass plate

• The “DoDEA Pacific” logo should be shown prominently across the top

• Text centered at bottom of page (permanently etched): “You are congratulated on your performance during the tournament. This award is in recognition of your team’s performance.”

• Arrangement and text are subject to change based on year, sport, event, division, and award placement/position.

MEDAL WITH LANYARD – ATHLETIC EVENT

Estimated Annual Quantity: 1,250 Each

• Brass or brass plated Medal

• Colors: Gold, silver or Bronze (color shall be the same on both sides)

• Approximately 2” wide and 1/8” in thickness

• Weight should be (approximately) 3-4 ounces

• Holder shall be at the top of the medal firmly attached to a shiny brass ring and fastened to a red/white/blue lanyard

• Text engraving on front side perimeter medal

(Centered at top) “DODEA PACIFIC” (Centered at bottom) “FAR EAST ATHLETICS”

• The center area shall be the DODEA PACIFIC logo

• Individual cases are not required however, medals must be protected to prevent scratches/damage

• Text on backside of medal shall be neatly centered and permanent

• Text shall include the Year, Event, Sport, and Division

MEDAL WITH RIBBON DRAPE - JROTC CHAMPIONSHIP

Estimated Annual Quantity: 375 Each

• Brass Medal smooth around the outer edge

• Colors: Gold, Silver, or Bronze plate (Color shall be the same on both sides)

• Approximately 1.5” wide and 1/8” (3mm) in thickness

• Raised text engraving on front perimeter

Centered around the outside - “DODEA JROTC FAR EAST CHAMPIONSHIP, “No Date” excess spacing shall be centered along the bottom of the medal.

Inside area – Raised Colored Pictures (flags: American, Japan, and S. Korea; JROTC Emblems: Air Force, Army, Marine Corp and Navy shall be permanently etched in the brass (etching or other methods with same result is acceptable).

• Holder shall be at the top of the medal firmly attached to a shiny brass ring and fastened to a red/white/blue ribbon

• Ribbon Drape: Color - Red, White and Blue ribbon, approximately the width of the medal

• The ribbon shall have a pin fastener on back to secure medal to clothing

• Text engraving on back shall be centered and neatly display the event and awarded position/place

MEDAL WITH LANYARD – ACADEMIC EVENT

Estimated Annual Quantity: 1,455

• Brass or brass plated medal, beveled edge with heavy plastic overlay

• printed insert (front and back)

• Color: Print background color of insert will vary, e.g. black, gold, bronze, silver

• Size: Approximately 2” (50 cm diameter) and 3/16” (5cm) in thickness

• Holder shall be at the top of the medal firmly attached to a shiny brass ring and fastened to a red/white/blue lanyard

• Text (computer generated) on front side perimeter

Centered at top: “DODEA PACIFIC” inserted in black ring Centered at bottom: “FAR EAST ACADEMICS” inserted in black ring Centered in the middle: Colored Photo/logo

• Text and logo/photo are subject to change and will vary based on location, event, and year.

DIE CASTING FEE

A die casting fee may be applied for new engravings or design changes on medals not previously ordered.

PRE-APPROVAL

The contractor shall coordinate with and obtain approval from the Government Representative/Events Coordinator (to be identified per each task order), prior to production of orders as necessary. Upon request from the Government, the contractor shall provide a sample, photograph, or drawing of the final product within 3-days or agreed time following the request.

Sample requests from the Contractor may not be necessary for repeat orders that have been previously approved.

SHIPPING & HANDLING

In the event shipping is required, shipping and handling expenses shall be a percentage (%), of the total price of materials ONLY, per each order. Shipping and handling shall not be applied for any die casting processing. Shipping to the physical address shall be door-to-door. (The contractor’s proposed percentage for shipping will be inserted).

DELIVERY INFORMATION

Delivery locations vary depending on the location of the event. Events occur within various areas to include but not limited to Okinawa Japan, Mainland Japan, South Korea, and Guam. Supplies shall be sent to APO/FPO or door-to-door to the physical address. Each delivery order shall define its own delivery schedule to include the delivery location(s).

General Information:

A list of projected events will be provided by the Government to the contractor for the purpose of planning.
