STATEMENT OF WORK

for

DTRAIC WAREHOUSE SPACESAVER INSTALLATION PROJECT

Spacesaver High Density System

September 8, 2010 Attachment 1

1.0 Description of Services

GENERAL: This requirement calls for a turn-key Spacesaver High Density Mobile Storage System (name brand or equal) for the DTRAIC Warehouse, located at Bldg 20676, Kirtland AFB, NM 87117.

1.1 Introduction

This Statement of Work (SOW) outlines the requirement to furnish and install a new mechanical shelving system in building 20676, DTRAIC Warehouse, Combat Support Directorate, Kirtland AFB, NM. The entire storage system shall be installed professionally by the contractor in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications and industry standards to include all fire and safety codes.

2.0 Scope

The scope of this contract includes the delivery, setup, and installation of a new shelving system, based on approved Architectural drawings (reference Exhibit 1 Architectural Drawings in Purchase Order under Exhibits and Other Attachments). The contractor shall provide detailed description of the manufacturer and installer warranty.

2.0 Technical Requirements

The proposed shelving systems shall conform to the following:

2.1 The shelving system shall have stationary platforms, shelf support/reinforcements, HPLF paneling, closed angle 4 post upright sections and back holders to include welded uni-frame carriage construction with ergonomic operator handles and the ability to adjust chain tensioning without removal of the end panel.

2.1.2 The carriage drive system shall transmit power to both wheels in each drive assembly on each carriage to prevent wheel slippage due to uneven loading conditions inherent within the media collection. Moving carriages shall use a synchronized drive system that powers both the left, right, front, and back of each carriage. Synchronized drive is a requirement for this application because of the weight loads, and possibly imbalanced loads that each carriage may experience in normal working conditions. Carriage systems that drive only one side of the carriage (even if the drive shaft is full length) are unacceptable. Carriages shall not be susceptible to binding or racking.

2.1.3 The carriage guidance shall be facilitated by roller guide bearings that extend from the carriage below the top of the rail. The carriage shall be guided by roller bearings that extend from the bottom of the carriage down below the top of the rail to ensure that the carriage runs smoothly across the rail sections. Bearings used in the guidance system shall be precision machined, permanently lubricated and adjustable to ensure proper alignment of the carriage. Roller guidance system shall also include an in-rail anti-tip hook that connects to the primary vertical member of the rail (not the support channel of the rail). Flanged guidance is unacceptable.

2.1.4 Anti-Tip mechanisms are required because a significant portion of the storage will be located on top of a mezzanine. In rail anti-tip hooks are required to interlock with the primary vertical member of the existing structural rail.

2.1.5 Non-Powered In-Aisle Safety System is required to protect personnel and objects within the system. Safeties shall be activated when pressure is applied at any location along the leading edge of the sweep’s surface causing the carriage to stop immediately.

Each carriage shall include a non-powered safety mechanism to safely and fully stop the carriage if it comes in contact with a person or object in the aisle. The mechanism system shall not require electricity or battery power to operate.

3.0 Program Management

Contractor to provide all labor and maintenance to cover warranty of newly installed shelving system. The contractor shall provide all manuals, literature and warranty information for the system. The contractor shall provide end-user training and demonstration after installation.

4.0 Task Management

The contractor shall notify the DTRA Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) in a timely manner concerning any issues that would adversely impact the contractor's ability to meet and satisfy the requirements of this SOW. The contractor shall be responsible for all cleanup and removal of packaging materials, supplies and crating, not necessary for use and warranty of the system.

5.0 General Information

5.1 Work shall be conducted during normal business hours, 0700 – 1630.

5.1.2 Area(s) shall be free and clear of construction debris.
