Product Description Naval Special Warfare Command
SUEX Nero1 Dual System Naval Special Warfare
1.0 OBJECTIVE: Naval Special Warfare has a requirement for a SUEX Nero 1 Dual System (brand and model name) Diver Propulsion Device/Vehicle (DPD/V) and associated accessories.
1.1 Background: NSW conducts maritime special operations. Included in the maritime special operations is the capability to conduct combats swimmer profiles of varying distances.
The DPV allows operators to conduct these profiles with expanded range capabilities.
2.0 DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT: Provide a reliable and modular family of DPD systems that are capable of meeting NSWG-3 combat swimmer profile requirements. The system must have low acoustic and magnetic signature. Thrust requirements are greater than 50 ft-lbs.
Power supply must have both high energy capacity batteries (Li-ion) and SUB-SOF carry on approved (NiMH). The power sourcing must be modular and wet-connections in order to allow for maximum flexibility for power duration.
2.1 General physical description to include capabilities:
This system couples two DPDs in order to obtain the requested thrust, speed and range.
Furthermore it offers a great operational flexibility being easy to deploy and can be separated in two separated DPDs.

2.3 Additional capabilities:

2.3.2. Wireless coms between the speed nosecone, DPV battery and Navy computer to provide range, course and battery information to the driver for each DPV and the system
2.3.3. Convertible NIMH battery kits
2.3.4. Non-delrin PA6 option for off gas - carry-on requirement
2.3.5. Offboard external batteries and wet connects to extend range
2.3.6. User swappable battery packs with no tools required
2.3.7. Suex Nero units run quiet with low acoustic signature and low magnetic signature

4.0 SECURITY: All information related to this contract shall be protected IAW DFARS 252.204-7000.
5.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE: The Government reserves the right to perform inspections and surveillance to evaluate the Contractor’s compliance to the contract terms to include proper delivery of quantity and type of goods. The Government will make every effort to ensure that the surveillance methods used are conducted in an objective, fair, and consistent manner.
