ELEVATOR MODERNIZATION RFI #3
The intent of the GSA specification is for the awarded vendor to supply training on items such as the following:
1. Key switch operation
2. Cleaning of exposed finishes
3. Operation of fire recall
4. Operation of phone
5. Items to look for before placing a service call.
It is not the intent that the awarded vendor provide training on maintenance, troubleshooting and such as outlined in the specification. Work which, would normally be performed by an elevator contractor.
GOV RESPONSE
That is 100% correct.
The training referred to is only for training the building management on how to operate the elevator and elevator functions. It in no way refers to maintenance of the elevator.
