14. Description of Amendment/Modification (Organized by UCF section headings, including solicitation/contract subject matter where feasible.)

1. Due to amendment numbering error, change Amendment 01 issued August 18, 2009 to Amendment 02.

Amendment 1 issued on July 24, 2009 to change FBO posting type from “Presolicitation” to “Soliciation” (no changes to requirements).

Amendment 2 issued August 18, 2009 to incorporate clarifications and spec changes.

Amendment 3 issued August 21, 2009.

2. Incorporate attached questions and answers as clarifications/changes to this solicitation.

3. Extend offer due date from August 25, 2009 to August 27, 2009.

1. Answered by GSA: This is not a courthouse. There is no Department of justice guidelines of any sort on this building. The glazing has no ballistic or blast resistant specifications to follow.

2. We feel more comfortable that the manufacturer of the original Zipperwall system be the one to create the extrusion, custom or not. Therefore we would recommend not considering the same application from Vistwall and YKK-AP.

3. Insulated metal panels were deleted through the course of design, so the section should be deleted.

4. Considering the age of the curtain wall system, there has probably been fading, so it may not be feasibly prudent to use a more expensive anodized material only to not have it match. We recommend staying with the Kynar finish, and revisiting if bids are favorable.

5. The 1/4" spandrel glass in the glazing section 08800 should be changed to 1" spandrel (Originally the scope of design considered the use of 1/4" spandrel with insulated panel back-up, but the 1" spandrel glass is more economical.

6. We recommend proceeding with the low-E glass as specified.

7. Amendment No. 2 dated 18 August 2009 specifies a shading coefficient of .28.
