Questions and Answers for FRA17CAMERA
1. How many cameras are needed?
Answer: 2 (two)
2. Would these cameras be for an application such as crash sled?
Answer: We don’t intend to mount these cameras on a moving vehicle, like a crash sled. Rather, we intend to mount these cameras at trackside locations in order to view something like a crash sled.
3. Would the battery back-up need to be high-G as well?
Answer: We would like for the battery backup to have the same minimum 30G rating of the camera system if possible. However, it shouldn’t be completely disqualifying if a vendor’s camera battery isn’t high G rated.
4. Would you require new c-mount 1” lenses to allow the full frame rate and/or full resolution (i.e. vignetting issue with existing FRA lenses)?
Answer: We will most likely require new lenses for these cameras. However, we are not entirely sure if we would prefer to use c-mount 1” lenses or to use canon lenses with an adapter to c-mount. Any lens should allow for any camera’s full frame rate. But, some lenses that are physically smaller in diameter may not cover certain cameras image sensor entirely, which results in vignetting. This is why we are considering canon lenses, because they should be large enough to fully expose the image sensor on pretty much any high speed camera.
