About this file

This document contains questions and answers regarding a federal solicitation for a waste baler at Edwards Air Force Base in California. The solicitation seeks a two-ram baler with automatic wire tie and compaction and ejection cylinders, as a 30HP model would not be sufficient to handle the load of municipal solid waste. The awarded contractor will be responsible for removing the existing Mosley Badger 75S-2 baler and Krause 60" conveyor, which will require disassembly and disposal in government-provided bins or trailers. The contractor must also ensure all areas are cleaned during removal and installation. Training will be required for the new baler. An inground 60" conveyor is specified, with a minimum height to the baler feed chamber of 20 feet. A variable speed drive is not necessary for the conveyor. The solicitation is for the Department of the Air Force through the Materiel Command Test Center.
