Specifications for

Vertical Band Saw at

Arnold Air Force Base, TN

Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC)

The specific band saws acceptable for this order are the Marvel Series 8 - Mark III* (desired), HEM Saw V100LM-60*, the Hydmech VW-18*, and the COSEN SVC-670DM. Any other saws will need to be reviewed and approved by requester prior to purchase. (* Made in USA)

Provide all materials, labor, and equipment necessary to provide four (4) new fully functional Vertical Band Saws. Refurbished or remanufactured parts are not authorized for this requirement.

Requirements:

o Quantity: Four (4) o o T slotted work table o Tilt blade with minimum 60 degree capacity to both left and right o Power tilt with angle display o Blade speed variable form 50 to 300 fpm, minimum o Blade break and stall cutoff o Blade cant adjustment, 90 to + 3 degrees, minimum o Adjustable blade tension o Replaceable blade guides and brush o Adjustable variable blade feed speed and pressure 0-250 lbs o Adjustable blade guide height o Front mounted controls for all powered functions o Moisture proof compartment to house all electrical and control components (NEMA 12) o Power supplied at 460VAC, 3 phase o Power disconnect for lock out tag out o Motor size 5 HP, minimum o Automatic stops with presets and blade return o Dual work vises / material clamps o Built in flood coolant system with catch pan, and wash down hose o Access door safety interlocks o Emergency stop o Work light

Options: (Items to be Priced Separately) o Power Clamping with variable pressure o Conveyors/Roller Tables, not powered o Vertical Clamping

Documentation o Operating Manual, Electrical Manual, Maintenance Manual, & Schematics

Contractor shall provide:

o 3 additional metal cutting saw blades provided with each saw o Include lifting, leveling, and floor attachment hardware

Verification After installation the Contractor shall test run each saw in accordance with test plan provided by the manufacturer at delivery.

Warranty

This machine shall be warranted against any defects in material, parts, and workmanship for 24 months after the date of installation.

Maintenance, Parts and Service

The Contractor shall have the capability to service the equipment (labor and parts) beyond the warranty period, or the equipment shall be able to be serviced by a local qualified representative. The Contractor or representative shall be capable of responding to a repair service call on-site within 36 hours and repair parts delivery within 48 hours after placement of order.

Packaging/Delivery

Provide all preservation, packaging, and packing to ensure safe delivery of the machine and related components to AEDC (FOB Arnold Air Force Base, TN 37389). Deliver Machine to AEDC for off-loading by AEDC personnel.

Installation/Training

Model Shop, West Shop, Building 451. Installation of the machine shall be accomplished by Model Shop personnel and supervised or verified by factory trained servicemen prior to startup as deemed necessary by the manufacturer. This service shall be included in machine cost.

One day initial training on machine features and operation shall be done beginning at machine startup.

Training shall be included in machine cost.
