Specifications for

Horizontal Mitering Band Saw at

Arnold Air Force Base, TN

Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC)

The specific band saws acceptable for this order are the Marvel PB2743S*, HEM Saw Hurricane 2030M*, or the Hydmech M20A*. Any other saws will need to be reviewed and approved by requester prior to purchase.

Provide all materials, labor, and equipment necessary to provide one (1) new fully functional Horizontal Band Saw. Refurbished or remanufactured parts are not authorized for this requirement.

Requirements:

o Quantity: One (1) o Capacity: Cut Range 20 30 o Pivot blade with 60 degree mitering capacity o Control panel angle display o Semi-automatic operation o Front mounted controls for all powered functions o Blade speed variable form 50 to 300 fpm, minimum with display o Blade break and stall cutoff o Powered adjustable blade tension o Powered automatic down feed o Replaceable blade guides and brush o Adjustable blade guide width o Laser Light o Moisture proof compartment to house all electrical and control components (NEMA 12) o Power supplied at 460VAC, 3 phase o Power disconnect for lock out tag out o Motor size 7.5 HP, minimum, VFD o Automatic material retract for blade withdrawal o Dual powered work vises / material clamps o Built in flood coolant system with catch pan, and wash down hose o Chip auger o Access door safety interlocks o Emergency stop o Work light

Options: (Items to be Priced Separately) o Third powered clamping for hold long material o Conveyors/Roller Tables, not powered o Bar/Pipe Feed

Documentation o Operating Manual, Electrical Manual, Maintenance Manual, & Schematics

Contractor shall provide:

o 3 additional metal cutting saw blades provided with saw.

o Include lifting, leveling, and floor attachment hardware

Verification After installation the Contractor shall test run each saw in accordance with test plan provided by the manufacturer at delivery.

Warranty

This machine shall be warranted against any defects in material, parts, and workmanship for 24 months after the date of installation.

Maintenance, Parts and Service

The Contractor shall have the capability to service the equipment (labor and parts) beyond the warranty period, or the equipment shall be able to be serviced by a local qualified representative. The Contractor or representative shall be capable of responding to a repair service call on-site within 36 hours and repair parts delivery within 48 hours after placement of order.

Packaging/Delivery

Provide all preservation, packaging, and packing to ensure safe delivery of the machine and related components to AEDC (FOB Arnold Air Force Base, TN 37389). Deliver Machine to AEDC for off-loading by AEDC personnel.

Installation/Training

Model Shop, West Shop, Building 451. Installation of the machine shall be accomplished by Model Shop personnel and supervised or verified by factory trained servicemen prior to startup as deemed necessary by the manufacturer. This service shall be included in machine cost.

One day initial training on machine features and operation shall be done beginning at machine startup.

Training shall be included in machine cost.
