Questions & Answers 28 June 2016

1. QUESTION: Can we confirm that the displays are required to be commercial grade.

ANSWER: Yes, displays are to be commercial grade.

2. QUESTION: Can we confirm the (2) camera system for the room. One in front for the audience, and one in the back for a presenter.

ANSWER: 2 Cameras will not be needed for this project. The one in the front for the audience will be enough.

3. QUESTION: Can we confirm that the (3) year warranty is to cover all products, maintenance, software upgrades, minor programming changes and labor for all equipment bid.

ANSWER: Yes, the 3 year warranty is to cover everything.

4. QUESTION: Can we confirm that H.323 is required for the video conferencing unit.

ANSWER: H.323 is our only supported mode for VTCs. We do not support SIP connection.

5. QUESTION: Can we confirm that cables will be run along the floor unless a core drill or conduit is provided by AFRL Facilities.

ANSWER: Cables will be ran along the floor instead of under the floor.

6. QUESTION: Can we confirm that the interactive display needs it interactive capabilities to be passed to the (2) resident PC’s and also an end user laptop (windows/Mac). This would not include tablets like iPads and Android devices since they do not support this type of interactivity.

ANSWER: Due to the security restriction on our machines we will not be able to use a fully interactive display with Whiteboard and drawing capabilities because the software will not be able to be placed on to the stationary PCs. If possible, we would like something similar to the HP LD4245TM Interactive Digital Signage Display, but at a size of 65". A display that connects USB to the PC without additional software and act like an extension of the Windows system in local presentation mode, and act like a standard display in VTC mode. This does not have to be an HP product.

7. QUESTION: Can we confirm that an input adapter ring is required to provide connection for android tablets, iPads, Etc ANSWER: Yes, an input adapter ring is required to accommodate different connection types.

8. QUESTION: Can we confirm that VTC control is to be through the vendor provided Crestron controller and no manufacturer VTC touch controller is needed.

ANSWER: VTC control will be through the provided touch panel and not through the VTC vendor provided touch panel.

9. QUESTION: Can we confirm whether the displays TV tuners will be used and whether audio needs to be pulled into the audio system. If so will AFRL provide the coax line to the display(s) ANSWER: Yes, we will require TV tuners and the audio will need to be utilized through the sound system. Once the TV's are in place, AFRL will provide the Coax connection to the displays through their cable TV contracted company.
