Question Set 3
Cover PD – Paragraph 3.1.5 Wire Partition – Vault Fence Line – Can you please clarify if this is wire partition (as the heading suggests) or chain link fencing that is being removed and whether it is chain link fencing or partitions to be supplied? (Reference sentences Fence lines shall be constructed of a maximum of 2 inch x 10 gauge chain link with upright positions” and “The partitions shall be 16’ high”) Normally wire partition is spec’ed to be 2x2, 2x4, or 1x3 grid.
Answer: The wire partition shall be chain link as specified.
Cover PD – Paragraph 3.1.5 Wire Partition – Processing Bay Fence Line – Because this has 3 sides more specific measurements are required than approx. 70’. Please supply the dimensions for the 3 sides.
Answer: Each short end is approximately 10’. The long span is approximately 52’ including the door – 42’ on one side of the door and 6’ on the other side of the door.
Appendix A lists “Tire Support” in the definitions (section 1.1), but then is never brought up in any literature pertaining to the pallet racks nor in any of the drawings.
Answer: There are no tire supports required for this contract and the reference in the definition list can be disregarded.
For the wire partitioning fence in the processing area. It says it needs to be 70ft long, but has no other dimension for us to work with in terms of layout. Below is a screenshot of the area in question. As you can see, it doesn’t specify the top and bottom length, nor the long length, it doesn’t include the location of the door. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
Answer: Each short end is approximately 10’. The long span is approximately 52’ including the door – 42’ on one side of the door and 6’ on the other side of the door.
