Q: Is wall mounted equipment acceptable?

ANSWER: Central equipment must be rack mounted

Will the government provide additional rack space if needed?

ANSWER: the government will provide additional rack space EXCEPT in building 26. The contractor must inform the government of rack space and/or power requirements. The government will also provide fiber.

Q: Is UPS (uninterrupted power system) required?

ANSWER: Signal shall be available 99% of the time – how this is accomplished (UPS Or other solution) is up to the contractor

Q: Can the contractor use existing wall penetrations?

ANSWER: Yes – the contractor can use/share existing wall penetrations, however, if a new penetration is required, the contractor must provide the new penetration

Q: Is there a comm room on every floor of each building?

ANSWER: the VAST majority of buildings have a comm room on every floor, however, this is not a guarantee

Q: Is tehre open, single laod fiber available?

ANSWER: Yes – this connects on the first floor building to building

Q: Are the lab rooms in the buildings typically drop ceilings

ANSWER: Yes, typically and floors can be up to 3’ thick which often prevents signals from getting through

Q: Where would the government prefer the main devices to be installed?

ANSWER: preferably in the 1st floor comm rooms

Q: For basement spaces, is conduit required?

ANSWER: in basement spaces conduit is not required
